September Updates from Janet
Where Did Summer Go?
I love the excitement that comes with back-to-school season—the new shoes, new pencils, and a whole year of possibilities ahead.
I was fortunate to be on the University of Georgia campus on the first day of class, and you could feel the buzz in the air. I also got to watch a video of my three-year-old grandson walking into his first day of preschool in Illinois. His backpack looked bigger than he did! You could see his excitement in his quick pace as he headed into the building.
My heart swelled even more when I saw him walk out at the end of the day and pick up the pace when he recognized his mom and dad waiting to pick him up. It’s a big world out there!
As we head into a new school year, please remember to be kind to the children and parents who may be struggling with the transition. New beginnings can be exciting—and challenging.
I hope you enjoy the summer days we have left while looking forward to the next season!

Compensation: It Really Matters
You’ve heard us talk about the registration updates before, and there’s a good reason—we still need your help.
More than 1,500 of you logged in during the first two weeks and updated your registration information. Thank you! But we need more participation to have enough data to extract and compare information at the state level.
Even if you aren’t planning to visit the Institute anytime soon, would you take a few minutes to log in and update your information?
The more complete our data, the stronger our ability to understand compensation across the home visiting field—and advocate for meaningful change.
Your information matters. And the data we collect together can help tell the story of the home visiting workforce.
