The National Home Visiting Certification Exam 2.0 launched on October 2, and the early results are encouraging! So far, eight people have taken the new exam, and it looks like we have accomplished exactly what we set out to do: create an exam that is relevant, meaningful, and closely aligned with the Home Visitor Core Competencies.
During this initial launch period, the passing score will remain at 72%. Once we have a larger group of test-takers, we will review the results and determine whether an adjustment to the passing score is warranted. Given the higher average scores, it is likely that the passing threshold will increase to better reflect the performance of the new exam.
What does this mean for you? If you've been sitting on the fence about pursuing your national certification, this may be the perfect time to take the leap! The current passing threshold remains in place while we gather additional data, and the early results are very encouraging. Don't put off an opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and commitment to the home visiting profession!
