Heart of Home Visiting
At Heart of Home Visiting, they know real change starts with the connection between a home visitor and a family. That’s why they’re excited to partner with the Institute—an organization that shares their commitment to growth, equity, and practical support for the workforce.
Their goal is simple: help home visitors and early childhood professionals build strong, meaningful relationships with families. They offer training, coaching, and tools that make everyday practice easier and more effective—always grounded in respect and real-world experience.
They focus on:
Building trust from the very first visit
Listening and responding in ways that honor family voice and choice
Recognizing and building on family strengths
Supporting caregiver–child relationships as the foundation for development
Navigating challenging moments with empathy and confidence
Supporting the workforce with reflective supervision and practical tools that reduce stress and build confidence
Gina and Kere bring expertise and heart to the work of home visiting. Gina, an early childhood educator and professor, prepares future early interventionists and educators to support young children and their families. As one of the developers of PICCOLO, she offers a strong strengths-based perspective to fostering positive parent–child interactions. Kere, also an early childhood professor, brings a complementary, relationship-centered approach grounded in real-world experience, family engagement, and compassionate, practical support. Together, they model empathy, curiosity, and respect which is the true heart of home visiting.
